Story of our retreat center’s origin
In 2020 an instinctual drive manifested within me to build retreat centers. It was more of a gut level energy than any kind of thought process. Four years later I bought a purple home with one acre of land. A close monastic friend, Ani Chotso decided to donate the California KTD’s full inventory to this new Dharma Center.
So I drove to CA with a trailer and loaded up. The following summer while Ani La was visiting my Teacher Bhakka Tulku Rinpoche was at Mipham Shedra, where Lhoppon Rinpoche was hosting Gesar dances and celebrations.
I invited Bhakka Rinpoche to the center and much to my surprise he said in his raspy voice “I’ll come tomorrow.”
And he did. Seated on the Teaching chair I requested him to consecrate and name our center. With his carefree laugh he said “Tashi Chöling” which roughly translates to Auspicious Gathering Place of the Dharma. And so it began!
Up until now events have sprung up season by season and we feel honored to welcome events from all religious/spiritual traditions.
You know, I met the Tibetans in 2017 here in Boulder, Colorado and since that lightning bolt of connection I have wanted to share the blessings, knowledge and joy of those realized Masters with whomever has such interest.
